Idea: You Died, You came back, You aren't a Zombie.
You are the "Fateless One", Bound by nothing. You make your own fate and can change the fate of those you meet/help/kill. You're the one successful experiment of Fomorous Hugues, A Gnome scientist that has been attempting to raise the dead using the "Well of Souls" and you are trying to figure out how you died the first time and who you were before you died.
That's a lot.
Thoughts: 95 Hours.
What can I say, I dawdled. I'm a dawdler, I like to enjoy my games.... At the time of purchase I was closing in on the end of Star Ocean 4 {Which I still need to finish}. Switching to Amalur I just never looked back, The battle system is fun even though the story itself is a bit...lacking.
The main reason I went for the final battle was that I hit the level cap {40} and decided... what the hell. Lets go see what Gadflow and Tirnoch are up to in Bhaile. The Tuatha fell like little domino's, Did a fateshift and Gadflow did as well... Tirnoch was even pretty damn easy.
Honestly, The ending sucked.... It wasn't really an ending at all per se.. The game is like an MMO, You beat the boss and can then go back to whatever it was you were doing before you beat the boss.
The good news is, The battle system makes you want to go back and do whatever you missed.
End Results: You {along with Alyn Shir} were or are a member of an organization that's soul purpose is to prevent people from rezzing Tirnoch, Anyone who even finds out information about the Uber Dragon are to be silenced. You were posing as an assistant to Ventrinio {another Gnome Scientist} in Klurikon so that you could infiltrate Bhaile and dispose of the Tirnoch problem..... Of course she killed you.
Tirnoch is the reason you were rezzed, Using her powers she allowed you to be resurrected in Hugues' Well of Souls and was planning to use your Fateless status to free herself. Instead, You Kill Her.
After the battle you awaken in Rathir, Agarth is there and tells you that Alyn Shir had {done something useful for once} dug you out of the ruins of Bhaile after the battle and brought you there.
Agarth can no longer read peoples fates meaning that everyone has been released from fates plan and are now free to sculpt their own lives.
Characters:
Formous Hugues- The Gnome Scientist whose Well of Souls brings you back from the dead.
Agarth - A former warrior, current drunk and fate weaver. An associate of Formous Hugues, He is who Hugues sends you to when escaping the Tuatha at the start. Destined to die, His fate is altered when he meets you and he decides to help you out.
Alyn Shir - An annoying Dokkalfar, She knew you before you died and keeps her mouth shut about everything till end game. She kills Ventrinio because he gets a little too excited about Tirnoches power, She also threatens you in the end if you were to blab about Tirnoch.
Cydan - A Winter Fae, Ex Prince of the House of Sorrows. One of the few winter fae who are fighting against the Tuatha.
The Badies;
Gadflow - Once a lowly jester of the Winter Court, Gadflow took the Kings crown... placed it on his head and then killed the entire winter court. He becomes a fake king to the Winter Fae and used his Army to wage war against the rest of the world.
Tuatha Deohn - Gadflows Army, Corrupted Winter Fae who tredge forth in the name of their King and Goddess. Every time you kill one a new one is reborn making it a never ending cycle.
Tirnoch - Gadflow's "Goddess", She's actually a giant, powerful dragon who ends up snuffing Gadflow out herself when you show up in Bhaile.
