Summary: {From MAL} Set in an imaginary world, the Earth Land, there exists a Mage Guild called "Fairy Tail". Fairy Tail is stationed in the town Magnolia, residing in the Kingdom of Fiore, and is currently governed by Makarov, Guild's master.
Lucy Heartfilia, a 17-year-old girl, wishes to become a full-fledged mage and join one of the most prestigious Mage Guilds in the world, Fairy Tail.
One day, out of pure coincidence, she meets Natsu Dragneel, a boy who is transportation-sick, but very cheerful in nature. However, the thing she does not know is that Natsu is the closest connection to Fairy Tail, as he is a Mage in Fairy Tail.
Thoughts: Since this show looked a little too much like One Piece, I never tried it. I find that this was a bit of a mistake, this show is far more interesting then One Piece ever got and that was in the first episode alone. The way Natsu, Lucy, Erza and Gray act around each other and just in general really gives me a "Slayers" feel... and I love Slayers.
It's really too bad that Netflix just had the first 48 Episodes, now I will have to go elsewhere to find the rest of the series. Funimation hasn't even released the entire series and really, the way they are releasing it in "Parts" first is a pain in the ass. The "Collections" are reasonable prices but these "Parts" is just bullshit, no wonder so many people never bother to buy Anime.
These first 48 Episodes really fleshed out the main characters and even some of the supporting, it left tons of questions as well... certainly with the big Mystogan reveal.
Who we have....
Lucy Heartfilia- A Celestial Spirit Mage, she's the newest member of Fairy Tail thanks to Natsu. She's a bit on the vain side, but her caring attitude and quick thinking make up for this. At first I thought she was going to be the "useless" character, but she has became quite dependable through the arcs.
About midway through it's discovered that Lucy is the run away daughter of an extremely wealthy family, her father hired The Phantom Lord guild to bring Lucy back to him. This creates quite the mess and even leads to the Fairy Tails Guilds base being destroyed.
After all of that she returns home, her father wants her to marry into another powerful family and she declines. She tells her father never to come after her again and she leaves back to Fairy Tail.
Natsu Dragneel- Pink haired dragon slayer, he's loud and quick to anger. He's also a powerful and reckless little man who is looking for the man/dragon that adopted and taught him how to use magic {Igneel}. So far, there's been not a hint of him about.
Through these episodes it's shown that he's scared of Erza, loves to fight with Gray and had a bit of a crush on Mirajane's younger sister Lisanna before she died. Lucy, Lucy I can see a budding love in the future for those two. Maybe.
Gray Fullbuster- This one likes to get naked, the joke is slowly fading but... for a good part of these episodes he's not wearing much. He's far more laid back then Natsu is, just his opposite really and this makes the fact he's an Ice Magic user a bit stale. {Fire/Ice, Derp.}
Anyways, his back story is that when he was much younger the demon Deliora destroyed his hometown and killed his parents. While checking on the destruction, Ur and her student Lyon find Gray alone in the debris and Ur decides to take him in as her student.
Gray is set on vengeance, set on killing Deliora which really wasn't going to happen but...still a child and still undergoing training from Ur he hears of the demon attacking another area and goes after it. Ur follows after him with Lyon and.... Long story short she casts Ice Shell on the demon, a spell that causes the casters body to become the ice that imprisons the target. She "Died".
After these going on's, Gray finds his way to the Fairy Tail Guild and there we have it. Oh, Gray got his stripping habit from Ur. She and her students practiced their Ice Make magic in the snow, in their undies.
Erza Scarlet- An S-Class Mage with amazing Reequip powers, she strikes fear into almost everyone in the Fairy Tail guild but actually... she's a really nice girl. Her past is a little complicated... well compared to everyone else's it's extremely complicated.
When just a child she was kidnapped by a cult and enslaved, the cult worshiped Zeref and forced Erza and the rest of the slaves to build the Tower of Heaven.
Happy- A cat with wings? I have no idea what he is, but he's kind of irritating sometimes. Then other's he's quite amusing.. I guess he's the comic relief. How he came about though was cute...
A younger Natsu found his egg out in the woods, hoping it would be a dragon inside the egg he and Lisanna took care of the egg. Keeping it warm, kept it from being eaten by other guild members and even built a little house for the three of them.
It was the ultimate game of "House", Natsu was the daddy and Lisanna was mommy. Happy was the baby... Baby Dragon. He got his name because once he hatched the emotions in the Fairy Tail guild had went from anger to... Happy. He made people Happy.

Episodes 1 & 2 - Lucy and Natsu meet, they take care of Bora the fake Salamander and Lucy joins Fairy Tail. The two of them go and find another guild member who went on a mission and hadn't returned.
Episodes 3 & 4 - Lucy and Natsu accept their first mission, to burn a book. Sounds easy. Everything pretty much goes wrong and the book ends up being some message for the dead authors son.
Episodes 5 thru 8 - Erza shows up, Natsu and Gray are of course scared to death of her and then another mission happens. The Mission is to stop the dark guild Eisenwald from using the Lullaby, a flute that kills anyone who hears it's song.
During the mission they destroy a lot of stuff and figure out that Erigor {Eisenwalds "Boss"} plans to use the Flute to kill the Guild Masters while at a conference in Clover.
Episodes 9 and 10 - The group is walking back from Clover, some strange town fun on the way and once back Erza is "Arrested" for what happened during the previous mission. Mostly for show of course.
Episodes 11 thru 18 - Natsu decides to try out an S-Class mission and Lucy ends up tagging a long, Gray goes to bring them back and also decides to "tag a long". Last but not least, Erza shows up to bring them ALL back and yep...she decides to help out too.
The Mission? To Destroy the Moon! Sort of. This is the Deliora Arc. The Villagers on this Island believe the Moon is causing them to change into monsters at night. Really though, they are all ready "demons" who take human form and just forgot they were.
Episodes 19 & 20 - Natsu reads a spell that causes people to switch bodies and there's a little flash back episode of when Happy was hatched.
Episodes 21 thru 30 - The Phantom Lord guild has attacked Fairy Tail, why? Because Lucy's dad is paying them to bring her back home. He wants her to marry some goofball so that he may have more money/power/whatever...
It's a huge mess with lots of battles, a couple more reccuring characters pop up and in the end the Phantom Lord Guild is disband and Lucy wanders home just to tell her dad to bugger off.
Episodes 31 and 32 - Loke turns out to be the Celestial Spirit Leo, he was the reason his last "Master" died and he was cursed to stay in the human world forever/till he vanished. Lucy saves him and he becomes her Celestial Spirit.
Episodes 33 thru 41 - The group goes to a resort type place and Erza's past comes back to haunt here. Turns out Siegrain of the Council and Jallal of Erza's past are the same people...kind of. Magically! Anyways, He's trying to rezz Zeref. It doesn't happen, the good guys win and so on and so forth.
Oh, Some of the Phantom Guilds people end up joining Fairy Tail. Including the ever cool Rain Woman Juvia who has a crush on Gray.
Episodes 41 thru 48 - Gajeel from the Phantom Guild joins Fairy Tail. Laxus doesn't like how Fairy Tail is being ran now, feeling that people see it as more of a joke then something to be feared {Rawr!}. During Magnolia's Annual Harvest Festival he and his "Guard" take the village hostage and force the Fairy Tail members to fight one another.
Laxus wants his grandfather Makarov to hand Fairy Tail over to him, essentially he's throwing a huge lightning charged temper tantrum the entire 7 episodes. Fairy Tail wins only because when Laxus attempts to cast Fairy Law... Nothing happens. It casts and noone is hurt since he doesn't...really want anyone to get hurt. Kinda Corny.
Anyways, more importantly..... There's another Jallal look alike! Mystogan, the incredibly cool, mysterious S-Class member of Fairy Tail looks just like that bitch. What a huge disappointment that was.

Ending: It's not really an ending seeing there's over 100 more episodes to go, it's just that Netflix didn't have anymore of the episodes. The show really is a bit too much on the good feels level, nothing extremely bad has ever happened besides Mirajane's sister dying and some other rather pointless people dying...
Even the "Bad Guys" end up friends with the Fairy Tail bunch at the end in many cases. Oh well, that's just what type of show this is and it was actually really fun to watch. I'll get around to watching more of these eventually...
Biggest Disappointment: The Mystogan reveal! Really? Another Jallal. I thought he was going to be come major cool guy under all those clothes. *sighs* Oh well. Figuring out why he's another Jallal is reason enough to watch more.... I guess.
Nicest Surprise; Mirajane's uber form, people kept saying she was powerful but.. OMG. That was a bit of a shocker...
