Idea: You play the leader of the Third Street Saints, who also now happens to be the President of the United States. This game picks up five or so years after the third and after taking down former STAG Leader Cyrus Temple while he's attempting to blow up DC, You, the boss becomes president!
During a press conference the Earth is attacked by Aliens, lead by Zinyak they abduct you and you're entire press cabinet and so the fight with the Aliens begin.
Thoughts: This game feels like a huge DLC, which is fine. You end up in a virtual reality type Steelport and you have superpowers to play with! It has the little side games like SR3 did, but they are much easier to beat and move on in the story line.
The Story line, not the strongest thing in the world it's just really simple actually... The Aliens blew up Earth and now you and your gang are out to kill Zinyak. That's just what you do too, after you rescue all your homies from their Matrix like sleep you all power up and go kill the Aliens!
Even Gat is back, who I didn't really know in the third one since I've never played the first or second Saints Row. The game seems to take place after the Save Shaundi ending since, she's there as well.. Oleg ended up being blown up on Earth which sort of sucks.
There are a few new people or new old people{?} in the game that weren't in SR3. For the most part, this game is great. Just like the Third, it has it's aggravating parts but....yea... it's just so awesome to play!
Maybe I should try 2 some day.
The End: I had my Homies all upgraded before I beat the game, therefor I only got the "good" ending. Which was, you become ruler of the aliens and you apparently get some sort of time travel method. Sounds great for Saints Row 5, Time Travel!
Seems Zinyak liked to bobble around in time and take humans he found interesting, kept them in his collection so to speak. One of those humans was Jane Austen of all people, she was narrating the thing even...
With the power of YouTube, I looked up the second ending... you take control of the aliens and go off to take over a new home planet for the humans that are left. Boring. Lets do the time travel and save the Earth somehow... Guess Saints Row 5 won't be on the PS3 though so it may be a while.

Characters.
I was going to go through most the characters and say how they've changed and such compared to Saints Row 3, but that would take too long. Not only that, really most of them are about the same.
Sadly, Oleg dies when the Earth is blown up. I really liked that giant brute. :(
Johnny Gat comes back though, I didn't know much about him since he "died" in the very beginning of Saints Row 3. Turns out he didn't die at all, while on the airplane Zinyak comes down and "Collects" Gat, saying he's the only person on Earth badass enough to stop their invasion or some shit.
We rescued him from his own personal hell and...yea. He's back on the team!
Then there's the new little Robot Guy Cid, he only exists in the simulation though...was one of Zinyaks drones till the gang reprogrammed him.
Keith David is also another new guy, was the Vice President.
Characters from other Saints Row make appearances as well, mostly the bad ones of course.... so I got a little history lesson since I never played the other two games.
