Totoro
How: Netflix Rental
Grade: A+
Thoughts: It took me too long to watch this.
Satasuki and Mei move to the countryside with their father while their mother is in the hospital recovering from some mystery illness. Mei {the younger} goes off exploring and finds a large tree god Totoro sleeping under the nearby Camphor tree.
At first her sister doesn't quite believe her, but one night while waiting for their father's bus back from work Totoro bounds up and stands beside them.
There's really not much to the movie, it shows them dealing with their mother not being there and taking care of one another while their father is at work. The little boy down the road seems to have a bit of a crush on Satasuki, but tries to hide it.
The end event is Mei attempting to get into town by herself to see her sick mother who was supposed to be coming home for the weekend, but fell sick once more and had to stay at the hospital. The entire country town is looking for Mei, Satasuki rushing all around to look for her until she finally goes to Totoro for help.
Catbus {a giant cat/bus}aids Satasuki in finding her sister and then brings the two girls to the hospital window to see that their mother was "okay".
The movie is sweet and actually quite short, very much aimed towards little kids... but hey.. it was enjoyable. More so then many longer animated movies.
Plants Vs Zombies
System: PS3
Bought: April 15th
Started: April 15th
Beat: June 5th
Trophies: 7 of 12
Idea: You use plants to decorate and defend your house from an onslaught of Zombies. They want to eat your brains...
Thoughts: I've played this a lot on the computer, buying it on the playstation was just...because it was extremely cheap and I could then waste time with it on the console as well. This was actually the first time I paid for it, having got all the computer versions of it free one way or another.
The game starts out really easy and with just a couple plants, gridlike you set the plants out to kill the zombies before they get to your front door. You buy your plants with sunshine, the more sunshine the better, but when it turns to night the sunshines must be gotten with sunflowers and little orange mushrooms. Oddly, Sunflowers will grow in the dark.
First area, is your front yard, then it's dark in your front yard and then you go to the backyard..which is a little more annoying since you have a pool that needs protecting. Lillypads in the pool! The nighttime in the backyard with the fog is probably the most annoying parts of the game...
After the yards, the Zombies try to take your roof...maybe it's a bit more challenging because you need pots to plant on the roof but.. I still found the dark, backyard with the fog was far worse.
The game is enjoyable and addictive, it's great to just mess around with and it's pretty relaxing. The further you get in the game the more mini games and such open up, there's even a little area for a garden of sorts...a potted garden consisting of random presents you get while killing the zombies and some may be bought from the weird guy selling stuff out of the back of his truck.
The End: There's really no end,end... Once you defeat the Dr Zomboss on the roof the Sunflower sings as the credits role and then it goes into a New Game Plus type deal. You just replay the game again with all your stuff intact...building up more stuff and money to get the rest of the plants from the weirdo with the truck.
Dr Zomboss is pretty easy, as long as you keep your peppers and frozen shrooms handy. It's one of the convery belt type feeds for your plants instead of the normal plant with sun set ups. It's also the only nighttime battle on the roof....
He's not by himself of course, he's placing down other Zombies and even the stupid bungee types as you battle him. Every now and then he'll throw a bus at you or lean down and spot a fire or ice ball at you... Just takes a little time and patience and he's done for.
Note- So, the pictures look a little "meh". I am just too lazy to go find better looking ones or spif up these to make the backgrounds look better...

May ~ This is a little late.
May's always a little rough.
Mothers Day is in May, I don't really deal with it very well and tend to just want to hide somewhere away from all the happy people and their mothers. Oh well....
On to what this post is for.... What did I buy!
Black Bird Volume 18 - It's the last Volume!! OMG! 18, 18, Another to put on the complete shelf. A few others will be joining it there soon. Now I just need to read them all in a row...
Shiki SAVE Edition - I've been waiting a few years for this show to become available at a reasonable price and for once, waiting paid off. Not only was the SAVE Edition a good price, it was also the exact same release s the Limited Edition without the second volumes slip cover.
Funimation had said it'd been pushed back to June, but somehow RightStuf shipped it out the last week in May and I got it on the 30th. Yey!!
Network Purchases; I bought something, shame on me. Can't actually remember if I bought this in April or May, haha. Normally don't buy big games digitally, but it was 10$s..... Tales of Symphonia Chronicles. I've played a little of it and it looks like it should be pretty nice, yet the story may be a bit predictable.
Free Games...
May was a dead month, I'm still not sure if I will be downloading Skullgirls Encore, but I all ready own Puppeteer. Meh. I really thought back during the sale it'd be more likely that Rain would be a free game and not Puppeteer, guess I was wrong.
Oh well.
Skullgirls Encore - It's a fighting game of some sort, really don't know much about it. May download it eventually....
I forgot to download Batman before it left the free list, it's not that big of a loss of course since..well.. it's Batman. Oh well, I'll have to be more careful from now on.
