Soul Eater 14 ~ 26

DVD 3 -  Episodes 14 through 20
DVD 4 -  Episodes 21 through 26

Thoughts-   It did get better, a lot better.  I was a little disappointed with the whole "black blood in Soul Eater" thing, thought it was going to be some amazing thing and it turned out to be... a little madness demon in Soul Eaters head.  Meh.
Of course during Maka's final battle with Crona it was useful, but all it did was turned her into a giggling, indestructible crazy woman.  That also got some major feels going on... poor Crona.  He/she has got to me by favorite character now.
That was a bit of a shocker, Crona is Medusa's child that she melted down a sword and mixed it with the black blood. Then she injected it into Crona and attempted to make them into a Kishin.  What a terrible mother.   Enough with this...  Just some points from the episodes...

Episode 14 -  School days stuff, Exams and Maka attempting to get the top grade in class...Which she does.

Episodes 15 & 16-    Kid, Patty and Liz are investigating a Black Dragon that has been attacking people.
       * Turns out to be a boat carrying hundreds of human spirits all being ferried around by an evil soul.
       * There's another Kishin, no Crona. The Evil Soul tells Kid that it's closer to him then he realizes.
       * Kid Spazzes out, Lots of random stupid junk happens.
       * Crona and the Demon Sword show up, lop off the evil souls head and eat all the human souls.
       *  Kid trys to fight Crona, gets distracted by the beautiful sun...clouds...whatever.
       * Kid goes back to the Academy to ask his dad about this other Kishin.
       * Stein has figured out that Medusa is the Witch that was commanding Crona.
       * Stein sends Sid to her lab to look around, he gets blown up.

Episode 17 -  Excalibur!   Ox Ford, the smart guy from episode 14 that Maka was trying to beat out in grades... goes to look for Excalibur!  This episode was amazingly more amusing then the first episode Excalibur was in... he tells Ox of all 1000 of his provisions and then attempts to become his partner!
Excalibur even sings!    Ox declines and hurries back to the Academy.

Episodes 18 thru 24 -   So, there's a Kishin under the school that Death locked away a long time ago. This is why Death can't leave the city and all that...  Things get a little darker here.
Medusa, Eruka, Free, Crona and the Mizune Sisters attack Death City with the aim to awaken said Kishin by injecting it with the Black Blood.
There's a party going on so, all the Meisters, Weapons and Death are in the same room. Using his Independent Cube spell, free traps everyone in the room... Sid {who isn't dead} manages to get the main crew out of the room in order for them to defeat the invaders.

Battles.

Stein & Spirit vs Medusa -  Medusa seems to have a "thing" for Stein, she wants him to join her and study things together. He seems a little intrigued by the idea, but of course he's not changing sides that easy. The battle is a lot of chat-chat with a few strikes here and there, they are pretty much at a standstill until the Kishin awakens and causes Medusa to loose concentration.
This saves Stein in the end since her spell was aimed to take his head off if he had released his hold on her, but.... the distraction gives him enough time to "Kill" her.

Crona & Ragnarok Vs Maka & Soul-  It was supposed to be Black Star and Tsubaki taking on Crona and the Demon Sword, but Maka wants some revenge for her last failure against the crazy kid.
Even though this wasn't actually a deciding battle it was the more interesting, Crona has had a really hard life.  He/she was born to be an experiment of his/her mother Medusa, Medusa mixed the black blood with a normal weapon and put it into her child.  Cruel.
Crona would be locked in a dark room whenever he/she didn't did what his/her mother said and would then be picked on by Ragnarok.  It took a while, but Crona finally does as his/her mother says and killed whatever little critter it was that she wanted him/her to kill.   Crona is really just too nice to do these things..
Anyways, the battle itself is one sided to Crona until Maka and Soul take advantage of the Black Blood inside Soul.  This drove Maka into a Madness and allowed her blood to harden just like Cronas.  This freaks Crona out really...
Maka syncs up with Crona enough to speak to him/her inside their minds,  she makes friends with him/her and then even the "real" Crona breaks down.  Love,Love, Ending to this battle.  Maka wins, but so does Crona... someone has finally wanted to be his/her friend.

Kid, Liz & Patty and Black Star & Tsubaki - While chasing down Free and Eruka, Kid is getting a little preoccupied with all the rubble in the area and Free makes an appearance.  This battle is a bit pointless, Kid can't do any damage to Free and he's also attempting to figure out what broken pieces went together and then..  Black Star shows up.
This is when Kid figures out that Free is actually a hologram and then back to the chasing.  Free and Eruka reach the Kishins prison and it's madness starts screwing with them.  The students show up not long after and Kid takes care of Free while Black Star goes after Eruka who is about to inject the Kishin with the black blood.
Long fight short, the Kishin is awakened.  Maka and Soul show up, get laid out and pretty much they all loose.

Shinigami Vs The Kishin -  Not much of a battle here, Death doesn't have his Scythe so he doesn't really do much damage to the Kishin who quickly flies off to where he knows Death can't follow.

Episode 25 -  Death summons his weapons, Death Scythe, Marie, Azusa and Justin are the four of the eight that are available.  Spirit thinks he'll be reassigned for mucking up and leaving Deaths side during the previous battle, but he's not... he's just told to stay at the Shinigami's side.
Marie is paired up with the now very unstable Stein, Azusa is charged with hunting down the Kishin and Justin is just...there.  With the Kishin running around his Madness waves are effecting everything.. especialy Stein who is now nuttier then he was before.
The kids are healing up during this time and just coming to terms with what happened, Crona is locked away in the...dungeon...jail... Until Death figures out what to do with him/her.

Episode 26 -  Crona now with an adorable Demon Sword Ragnarok are allowed to stay at the school to attempt to become a student.  He/she is still quite awkward and is pretty much scared of everyone but Maka and Marie.
After the Tour of the school, Maka and Crona set off on a mission to investigate a Golem going mad and attacking people. What they find is a crazy weapon and the start of another battle...

The Kishin -  Asura, He was once one of the Great Old Ones. One of Eight of Death's Warriors/Guards who went a little....crazy.  I can't really remember the details but.. Death ends up skinning Asura and using his skin to imprison him.
When the Kishin wakes up it's a bit of a scene with him putting his skin back on. Uhg.

Comical Battle-  Blair Vs The Mizune Sisters -  Cat Vs Mice -  Blair's the cat from the first episode, she has lots of magic and a sexy human form, the Mizune Sisters are five tiny mouse like magical mice-women that are flying around attacking the town.
Blair's fish monger ends up being one of the victims which pisses her off, they attacked her free food source...  The battle is mainly for comedies sake...and fan service.  The Mizune Sisters can combine and form into a full sized woman with rather skimpy clothes on.
Think the battle pretty much ends in a tie, seeing that the Kishin sort of interrupts it.

Soul Eater 1 ~ 13

DVD 1 -  Episodes 1 through 7
DVD 2 - Episodes 8 through 13

Thoughts-  So far, So good.  As long as I don't take into account Kid's English voice actor then these episodes were quite enjoyable. The story has been fun so far, not too squishy like Fairy Tail and it's honestly just really nice too look at.
The character of Black Star is actually quite irritating, but I have a feeling he may grow out of that as I go through the rest of the episodes.  Even if he doesn't, he's still tolerable and his relationship with Tsubaki actually balances it out...in a way.
Didn't really like Maka at first but, she has grown on me and her relationship with Soul is actually really cute.  Her relationship with her father on the other hand is just plain amusing..... He's a bit of a skeeze, always hitting on women and this caused he and Maka's mother to divorce.  Of course he's also Shinigami's current weapon.
Now, the difficult character..  Death the Kid. I like the character, he's amusing to an extreme and I completely love his two weapons {Liz and Patty}. Insanely OCD and at times just plain useless due to his need to have everything symmetrical. He's the Shinigami's son and really doesn't need to attend the academy seeing he's not a Meister, but he's insistent up on making his own weapons to his standards.
What's the problem?  His English VA,  I can't stand it... The voice drives me to switch to Japanese if he has any long bouts of chatter.  *sighs*  I won't say he's a bad VA, he's not... he's quite good.. It's just that he's over used and the sound of his voice is very unpleasant.

So Far...

Breakdown...

Episode 1 -  Introductions -  Maka and Soul have just collected their 99th Kishin Soul and need their 100th soul to be that of a Witch.  The two of them seek out a witch named Blair, after barely being able to defeat her they find out that she's not a witch at all... She's just a cat with a lot of magic and nine lives.
Failing to get a Witches soul causes them to loose all of the Souls they've captured and have to start from the beginning.

Episode 2 - Introduction - Black Star and Tsubaki are supposed to kill Al Capone and his men, instead Al Capone & Company end up being killed by Mifune when attempting to get to the Witch Angela. Black Star and Tsubaki come onto the scene after the deaths and with a bit of trouble defeat Mifune.
Just as Black Star is about to finish him, Angela shows up and she's.... a little kid.  They can't kill the two of them and just give the souls of Al Capone & Company to Death.

Episode 3- Introductions-  Death the Kid, Liz & Patty.   Lord Death's Son and his weapons go to the Pyramid of Anubis and...wreck havok   They destroy the Pyramid and Anubis , but they don't get to keep the souls because they destroyed the pyramid.

No one has any Souls!

Episodes 4 & 5 -  Since they've failed so miserably,  Soul, Maka, Black Star and Tsubaki are sent on a remedial lesson to take care of a teacher who is now a Zombie. The four of them defeat him and then find the actual problem... Dr. Franken Stein.
Seriously, Franken Stein. Heh.  He's a Meister which once had Maka's father "Spirit" as a weapon.  He's a mad scientist type.... Spirit seems to be afraid of him even. The kids fight and don't die long enough to pass the "lesson".  It was all a set up from the start and Dr. Stein ends up being the newest teacher at the school.

Episode 6  -   Death the Kid, Liz and Patty enroll in the Academy.  Black Star and Soul fight him... He sort of wins and sort of doesn't.

Episode 7 & 8 -  Soul and Maka are on a supplementary lesson in London{?} and after they've completed their mission Maka senses someone in the church, feeling an uneasiness about opening the door she still does to find... A crazy guy. {Heh}
Crona and the Demon Sword Ragnarok, the sword is inside of Crona and likes to abuse him.. the two of them are rather comical at first.  Then it gets serious, Soul ends up almost dying while protecting Maka and Dr. Stein and Death Scythe show up and save the day.
A powerful Witch {Medusa} makes herself known and retrieves Crona/Ragnarok. Stein doesn't let Maka know, but Souls been infected with Ragnarok's black blood.

Episode 9 -  Kid and Black Star attempt to make Excalibur theirs, but once the two find it they certainly don't want it.  It's a crazy little creature thing with lots of rules and he may just be more annoying then Kid...
Meanwhile, Maka's father attempts to cheer her up.. awkwardly... and tells her about the origins of Ragnarok.  It eats humans souls instead of kishins and slowly turns into a kishin itself,  which is what the Meisters must prevent.
At the end,  Kid and Black Star had ran away from Excalibur but.. the sword seems to like them and sends the both of them a huge, garland thing that creeps out most of the students.

Episode 10  & 11 -    Black Star and Tsubaki go after the enchanted sword Masamune, he's possessing people and eating their souls from the inside out. Slowly, turning into a Kishin.
Interestingly enough, the village they happen by ends up being one that Black Stars now extinct clan once attacked and destroyed.  They recognize the star shape on his arm and attack him...as well as they can.
After a retreat, Masamune shows up and that battle ensues once he finds himself a new host. Using Black Stars zappy ability thing {I can't remember what it's called!} they free the boy from Masamune and Tsubaki "fights" him in his own.... mental type world.
Turns out, he's her older brother and got passed over in the family rankings... everything was given to Tsubaki and he's just a sore looser. heh,  That's how I see it anyways. She ends up winning the battle and obtains a new "ability" to turn into the Enchanted Sword.

Episode 12 & 13 -  Short and sweet, The school nurse is the Witch Medusa and she's been the one treating Soul who has the black blood from Crona/Ragnarok in him.  She's now treating him as an experiment of sorts.
Seems like Medusa doesn't just have the Meisters out to get her, even two of her own witchy kind would like to get rid of her.  Eruka Frog and Mizune, they attempt to kill her and she ends up killing Mizune and implanting Eruka with some of her snakes. Eruka is pretty much forced to do whatever Medusa says or die.. first mission. To release some werewolf guy from the Witches Prison, he had stolen the eye of the head witch and was put in jail as punishment.
Werewolf guy dubs himself "Free" and he attacks Maka and Soul Eater during a supplementary lesson while Medusa watches.  Maka and Soul aren't quite getting a long and when she attempts to use him as a weapon, he burns her... she does anyway and the two of them plus Tsubaki and Black Star defeat Free.

Random-  The Sun and the Moon are probably one of the more amusing aspects of this show.  Also, the magical cat from the first episode is my favorite character so far.  PumpkinPumpkin.

October ~ Boo!

What did I do this month?    Went to the Zoo!  Yep, that's it.  That's all there needs to be in October though...

We attempted to go on the first weekend in October, that failed hard.. Rain, Rain, Like no other October Rain before.  We'd have needed a boat to get to Cincinnati let alone get back... that place was underwater.
Instead of the Zoo, we went to the Metallica; Through the Never movie. It was actually pretty good, though the movie itself could have been crap and it'd still be good since the music was wonderful.  haha.

Anyways... WHAT WAS IN THE DAMN BAG!?   Okay, got that out of my system again.

Onto what this post is actually for, I was not good this month.

Black Bird 17:  No, I don't have 15 or 16 yet.  This was just on sale for Manga Monday and I decided I wouldn't see it for half price again and...grabbed it.  There shouldn't be too many more of these...

Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana:  There is was, sitting all discarded and alone on the shelf at Half Price Books.  I decided to give this old PS2 game a new home.  I'm not sure when I will have time to play it though...

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom:  When I said I wasn't good this month, I wasn't joking... This is a PS3 game I had never even heard of but... someone on a forum said it was a "Hidden Gem". Poked around on GameStops webpage and found the one store within 100 Miles that had it used.

Network Purchases;  I plunked down 10 Dollars for the Halloween Sales. Why? One word. Okami!

Okami HD;  People give this game glowing reviews, everywhere...and this was on the PS2 where it wasn't as pretty.  Did the game live up to the hype? So far, Yes.  It's gorgeous.

The Walking Dead: 400 Days;  Now my Trophy Data will be able to go back up to 100%.

Shadow of the Colossus;  This is the only free game I downloaded this month, the other two Amalur and Hotline Miami I either all ready own or have no interest in.  I hope SotC turns out to be better then ICO was..

Black Bird 17-                                       5.29
